After many years of working with the Web site, it's time for me to turn this over and get some new blood in here. Robert Beaubien will take over very soon, and we can all look forward to a new look and content. It's been my pleasure to work with you on this site. Scott

Al Messer: Al Passed-On on 6/12/08. Many may recall Al was involved in the Gardnerville Contest, with is son Tom, and was a long-time Pattern and Helicopter Pilot. I met Al and Tom when they lived in Fremont, where we flew off a dirt road behind an industrial park. Al taught me to fly helicopters and we often talked pattern and bounced ideas off each other. When Al retired, he moved to Gardnerville with his wife Carolyn, and picked out their new house so he was only be a few miles from the R/C field. Carolyn was always supportive of Al's hobby. In 2006, when I lost a motor in my plane at the contest, Al loaned me a new AXI, took me to his home, and gave me the 'key to his workshop'... anything I needed was offered to fix my plane. Al will be missed! sc

Sacramento Training, 6/14/08.
Shown below is the Sac training group with a plane build by Al Messer. We all took a moment to remember Al.

As you can see, we had a good turnout, all helping each other. A Tri-Tip lunch was provided by our Chief, Frank Capone, shown here carving some meat for... Scott! Miller, waiting for more.. Mike helped serve our nice lunch. Bruce Thompson joined us from Colorado. Bill Sneed was there with his new Smarag.. , Dave Wick showed us an old dog can learn new tricks. Dick Belden was in attendance from Ione, Roy and Dorothy came ready to practice.
